Sugarview

Set into a steep Vermont hillside with sweeping views of the Green Mountains, this contemporary residence and carriage house are embedded within a terraced landscape that responds to the site’s natural context. From the carriage house’s granite parking court, a planted passage begins. Broad sweeps of fern cascade down a wooded slope, arriving at a transitional landing set within a grove of birch and layered native understory. Together, these elements guide movement between buildings, navigating the edge between forest and open landscape.
