LEDGEWAY GARDENS
Nestled into a historic Brookline neighborhood, this garden connects a restored brick carriage house with the main residence through a series of terraced outdoor rooms. The design follows the land’s contours, stepping gracefully across the site to create a rhythm of spaces for gathering, movement, and quiet retreat. Pathways connect these rooms, linking outdoor living spaces and guiding movement across the terraced landscape. Layered plantings soften the architecture, while native understory species add texture and seasonal interest. Select elements of puddingstone, repurposed from on-site excavation, are integrated into masonry details, grounding the project in the material character of its setting.
