EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

Michael S. Coffin LLC is a landscape construction and horticultural management company specializing in high-end residential properties throughout New England. We work closely with top-tier landscape architects and design firms to build and maintain exceptional outdoor spaces through expert craftsmanship and horticultural insight.

We’re seeking a skilled and safety-focused Equipment Operator to support our construction division. This role is ideal for someone confident operating excavators, loaders, and skid steers on active residential job sites of various scales. You’ll work closely with site supervisors and crew members to keep projects moving efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately perform trenching, grading, and drainage installation

  • Operate equipment safely around structures, traffic, utilities, and active crews

  • Follow site layout plans and direction from supervisors

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work zone

  • Conduct daily equipment checks and basic maintenance

  • Assist the crew on the ground when not operating machinery

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience operating excavators, loaders, and skid steers

  • Strong awareness of job site safety and hazard mitigation

  • Massachusetts 2A license required (2A/1C preferred)

  • Valid DOT medical card

  • OSHA 10 certification in construction
